Indiana Down Syndrome Foundation

The Indy Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of community.  This festival will help raise awareness for the Indiana Down Syndrome Foundation.  This organization is the epicenter for information and services for families and individuals with Down Syndrome.  The Indiana Down Syndrome Foundation works tirelessly in their advocacy efforts to insure our government considers all the needs of individuals with Down Syndrome.

This festival will also help educate people about Down Syndrome and how people with Down Syndrome are inspiring individuals in our community.  We are going to exhibit photography from Stewart Johnson.  He will have pieces in the silent auction and others available for sale.

The reason I am so passionate about this cause is my daughter Olivia, who is five years old, was born with Down Syndrome.  I am trying give back to the community as much as possible.  Olivia is a great girl and we can’t imagine our life without her.

When thinking about how I could give back and create an event that would bring awareness to the community I thought of another one of my passions, beer.  I have been a homebrewer for the past 11 years.  People in this community love a great beer festival.  There is no homebrew festival in Indiana.  This would be the first on of its kind.  This would not only celebrate craft beer but also the art and skill it takes to create it.
